Collecting Everyday Essentials and House Hold Items for Families in temporary and emergency housing to give them hope for the future and help them as they transition to permanent housing and self sufficiency. |

Everyone Deserves Hope for the Future. Some people have nothing - and the most basic items we all take for granted are out of their reach. We can help provide hope by creating a "Hope Chest" care package of essentials that can be used to help families and individuals as they re-establish themselves. ![]() June 2011 Villages of Cabrillo "Free Store" Event The H.O.P.E. Chest Drive for the Free Store Event is a collaboration between The H.O.P.E. Foundation and HPSWAP that will be held at the Villages of Cabrillo. The Free Store will be a private event for the family shelters in the Villages of Cabrillo. Families will be able to shop for clothing and household items at no cost. We will be serving food, baked goods, popcorn, snow cones and soft drinks. There will also be a craft table set up for children (hosted by Karen Reside) to pass the time while parents shop. Donated items needed are children's, women's, and men's clothing, shoes, dishes, pots and pans, linens, blankets/comforters, curtains, and other miscellaneous household items. Items the families collect will be placed in a "HOPE" Chest and saved for when they leave the family center. Monetary donations and gift cards are also welcome.
